Sometimes we all need a little inspiration-- that extra push to get us where we want to be. I find that looking at beautiful yoga photography inspires me to do a little be extra, and it serves as a great reminder to take some time out of my day to practice yoga. I am simply a yoga novice. We I began Yoga Moves Club, Neva's class was the only one I was attending, and I couldn't think of anyone better to teach me the fundamental's-- Yoga at it's core. Neva has drilled into my head that Yoga mean's "to yoke" the body and the mind, and we do this through our breathing-- which can be argued as the most important aspect of yoga and is often over looked in many practices. Over the past couple of years, Neva has taught this girl, who run's around a million miles an hour all day, to sit still, to breath, to meditate, and to relax (not an easy task I assure you)
Today I would like to encourage you to remember the things we have learned in Yoga Moves club, but to practice yoga more than our once a week meeting. This may mean getting up a few minutes early and beginning your day with meditation (something I HIGHLY recommend). It may also mean branching out an trying a new class, as I have recently done.
Here is an interesting article from Yoga Journal about different types of yoga. If you have a break from 12:30 to 1:30 on Tuesdays and Thursdays, the
Sanderson Center offers a great (and challenging) class. If that one is hard to make, explore what Bliss Yoga in Columbus, MS has to offer-- it's a great studio.
